MC Off to Baguio for Rest and Recreation

After an exhausting academic year, twenty-seven (27) members of the faculty and staff of MC went to Baguio City on April 30 to May 2, 2010 for a much-desired rest and recreation. The group was headed by Dr. Leonardo C. Canlas, the College President, and Prof. Carmelita P. Sotto, the Vice President for Administration and Finance.

The group left Mabalacat at 6:30 a.m. on April 30, 2010 and reached Baguio City before lunch time. They immediately visited the Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary where quick earth-friendly lectures were delivered and tours made. In the evening, Dr. Canlas called for a year-end Academic Council meeting to discuss the achievements and challenges of the academic offices.

The next day, they strolled around the famed gardens of the Philippine Military Academy. After much fun, frolic and hearty laughs on cheap jokes, the group headed for Camp John Hay. Heavy rains and traffic, however, cancelled the Camp John Hay itinerary.

On the third day, the group visited the picturesque strawberry farms of La Trinidad in Benguet. They then rummaged through Baguio city’s markets and bazaars for souvenir shopping. Before heading home, the Group prayed at the shrine of the miraculous Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan.
